An intimate evening of chamber music classics from Europe and Argentina will be performed on Saturday at Hiilani Ecohouse near Honokaa.

The concert is a presentation of Hawaii Performing Arts Festival and is the latest event in HPAF’s annual series of winter concerts/fundraisers. It will feature the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johannes Brahms, Claude DeBussy and Pablo de Sarasate.

Ignace “Iggy” Jang, violinist and concertmaster of the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, and Cary Lewis, pianist and recording artist, will perform.

“This is one of those evenings we love to offer,” said Genette Freeman, executive director of HPAF. “Wonderful music, played by exceptional musicians, in an intimate setting with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. It’s my favorite way to enjoy classical music, not in a big concert hall but in a beautiful home. The audience is seated close to the performers, catching every nuance and expression, and experiencing the sheer physicality of performing, along with the artist.”

Proceeds from the concert will help fund scholarships and activities for the 2016 HPAF Summer Festival, scheduled from June 28 to Aug. 3. More than 25 performances are planned for this year’s festival.

Admission, including wine and pupus, is $65 per person. The concert begins at 4 p.m. To purchase tickets or for more information, go to: www.hawaiiperformingartsfestival.org or call 333-7378. Seating is limited.
